5 Project Plans with Accuride Slides

50879We never cease to be amazed by the wonder and creativity of our customers. From handcrafted furniture to inventive storage, our customers’ ingenuity keeps us moving forward. We often find ourselves wishing we could recreate these inspiring customer projects in our own homes. With these project plans, now we can!

Below we share five project plans that utilize Accuride movement solutions. We hope these projects inspire you to create something for your home or workspace!

1. Modern Sliding Door Entertainment Center

DIY Blogger Jen Woodhouse loved the look of walnut furniture, but not the price tag, so she decided to create her own. As opposed to the store-bought variety, which retails for several thousand dollars, this modern sliding door entertainment center costs $900 to build. (To further reduce the cost, Jen suggests using birch or maple instead of walnut hardwood.)

Walnut furniture can easily last a lifetime, so Jen chose hardware with a similarly long lifespan. For the drawers, she installed Accuride’s 3832E Light-Duty and Full-Extension Slides, which are cycle tested to ensure durability and longevity. With high-quality materials underpinning it, Jen’s stunning build is sure to delight for years to come.

You can find the project plans for this modern sliding door entertainment center on Jen’s blog, House of Wood.

2. Mega Lego Table

If there’s one thing all parents know, it’s the pain of stepping on a stray Lego piece. That’s why woodworker Nate Crilly designed this Mega Lego Table for his children.

The table consists of a surface for children to build with their Lego sets as well as two large storage drawers, supported by Accuride 3634EC Medium-Duty and Easy-Close Slides. These slides can support loads up to 150 lbs., enough for even the largest Lego collection. Plus, the Easy-Close feature ensures drawers are not left slightly ajar.

3. Workbench Drawers

Fix This Build That is a hub for free woodworking projects and plans. In their project “Simple Way to Add Drawers to Any Workbench,” they show woodworkers how to add drawers to their workbench to increase storage and improve shop organization. The benefit of doing it yourself, they explain, is that you can customize the drawers to meet your needs.

For this project, Fix This Build That needed drawer slides that could support a CNC laser used to cut and engrave wood. That’s why they chose the Accuride 3607 Heavy-Duty and Lock-Out Slide. With a load rating of 273 lbs., this heavy-duty movement solution provides effortless support. In addition, a handy lock-out functionality ensures the laser stays in position during loading and unloading.

4. Cottage Style Nightstand

To give back to the woodworking community, fine custom woodworker Mike started Woodshop Mike with his wife, Kathleen. The blog is a source of woodworking projects for every skill level. In a recent post, Mike showed readers how to create a cottage-style nightstand. Made from reclaimed wood, this nightstand is perfect for anyone looking to achieve the popular rustic farmhouse style.

To elevate this timeless piece, Mike chose Accuride 3135EC Easy-Close Undermount Slides. With its concealed design, the 3135EC allows for a clean look that focuses on your craftsmanship—not the hardware. Easy-Close functionality adds a layer of elegance to this piece, ensuring drawers do not slam shut.

You can find the project plans for this cottage style nightstand on the Woodshop Mike blog.

5. Sliding Barn Door

When renovating her children’s playroom, woodworker Brandi Radulovich of Eternal Harvest Decor wanted to install a sliding barn door to conceal the toy storage closet. The layout of the room, however, proved a challenge as a low-hanging ceiling left little room for hardware.

To solve this problem, Brandi installed the Accuride 115RC Medium-Duty Linear Track System. This system contains lightweight, corrosion-resistant tracks that can be side, flat, or vertically mounted—offering reliable guidance to Brandi’s sliding barn door. The result was a stylish solution to hide unsightly storage.

Brandi shared the entire building process in a YouTube video, which explains step-by-step how to create your sliding barn door.
